London is a busy city with lots to do at any time of year but, when the sun comes out and the days get longer, it truly shines. There’s plenty on this summer to cater to all tastes and interests, from world-renowned art exhibitions to unique nightlife experiences. All of these are great reasons to plan a trip to the capital. Running from 18 June to 18 August, the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. This annual event, now in its 256th year, showcases a diverse range of artworks from both established and emerging artists. Curated by sculptor Ann Christopher, this year's exhibition promises a mix of traditional and contemporary pieces, offering a glimpse into the future of the art world. Silent Sounds Boat Party

For a unique nightlife experience, the Silent Sounds Boat Party on the Thames really stands out. Taking place on select Saturdays throughout the summer, this floating silent disco offers breathtaking views of London’s iconic landmarks as you dance the night away.

Midnight Apothecary

All Points East

From 16 to 25 August 2024, Victoria Park hosts All Points East, a 10-day festival of music and community activities. This year’s line-up includes big names such as Mitski, LCD Soundsystem and Loyle Carner, among many others. Beyond the weekend concerts, the festival features a free midweek programme with film screenings, live sports and family-friendly activities, making it a comprehensive cultural experience.
